Eligible Expenses for Reimbursement

We wanted to share some helpful information on how to access reimbursements available through the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) Program. The SUPR Program can reimburse costs related to key substance use prevention and recovery initiatives. Eligible expenses will be listed below.

To successfully apply for your reimbursement, please follow these steps: Have an electronic copy of your detailed invoices ready. (Note: We have updated our invoicing to clearly break out the sections that qualify for SUPR grants). Then Go to https://grantmanagement.bwc.ohio.gov/

If you have questions or need help preparing your documentation, feel free to reach out. We are happy to guide you through the process to ensure you receive the reimbursements your organization qualifies for.

1. Developing or reviewing a written drug-free workplace policy.
2. Employee education and training to understand substance use issues and the employer’s policies.
3. Supervisor training on managing employees in recovery and recognizing substance use.
4. Drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, return-to-duty, and reasonable suspicion testing.
5. Substance use assessments for employees who test positive, voluntarily report an issue, or are referred by a supervisor.
