Drug Free Employee Education

Drug Free Employee Education provides awareness of the dangers of substance use in the workplace.  During the employee education training, employees will learn about the effects and consequences of prohibited drug and alcohol use on personal health, safety, and the potential risks involved when use occurs in the workplace.

Employers must arrange for each employee and supervisor to receive at least one hour of training within the first four months of the initial program year along with a one hour refresher course to be conducted annually.  Utilizing our online training courses which are offered in both English and Spanish will allow your employees to access their required training in a timely and efficient manner.

The Drug Free Employee Education training should include:

• Discuss/Review Company Drug Free Written Policy
• Dangers of Substance Use in the Workplace
• Signs and Symptoms of Substance Use/Misuse
• Disease Model for Drugs and Alcohol
• Employee Assistance Resource Information

Advanced & Basic Levels: Annually provide 1 hour of Drug Free employee education.  This training must be provided within four months of the initial program year.  A one hour refresher course is required annually.

Comparable Program:  A one-time, 1 hour Drug Free employee education class must be provided.  This training must be completed before beginning work on a state construction site.

In addition to our Drug Free training and testing, the Safety Pro Group provides access to a licensed counselor when a referral for drug or alcohol services may be required.
